Gemini’s subsidiary Nifty Gateway went into an agreement with Samsung to create a Smart TV-compatible digital asset environment.
Samsung teased its NFT initiative back in January at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022 convention, showcasing the newest Smart TVs, compatible with NFT management platforms.
Meanwhile, according to a news release by Gemini, Nifty Gateway will be at the forefront of developing a native NFT platform for Samsung’s latest QLED and Neo QLED 8k Smart TVs. This will enable users to scroll through their favorite NFT collections, make purchases, and trade with other collectors.

Co-founder of Nifty Gateway Duncan Cock Foster spoke on the partnership with Samsung, highlighting the demand for digital assets and NFT platforms’ to be much more accessible than ever. He added:

Nifty Gateway was purchased by Gemini back in 2019 to give the platform an institutional-grade infrastructure, ensure the security of transactions and provide NFT custody services.
In fact, Nifty Gateway is already supported in Samsung’s previous Smart TVs including the Frame and Micro LED.
Samsung has been slowly integrating blockchain technologies and hinting at metaverse objectives. Right after the CES 2022, the web-based metaverse platform Decentraland announced that it has successfully implemented Samsung’s virtual store into its digital environment.
Just a week ago, Samsung C&T partnered with PlayDapp to launch a metaverse theme park, based on Samsung’s real-life amusement park Everland.
