To honor the 40th anniversary of Chicken McNuggets, McDonald's Hong Kong has turned to The Sandbox to create its first Web3 experience, "McNuggets Land."
The immersive experience throws users into a unique universe dedicated entirely to the famous chicken snack. Participants are welcomed into a virtual store, which has a hidden factory. An interactive tour inside the Metaverse traces the historic journey of the famed McNuggets.

Along the way, gamers can partake in quests, earning rewards such as The Sandbox's utility token, SAND. After gaining the rewards, the cryptocurrency can be used to purchase virtual goods and personalize avatars.
In addition to virtual rewards, users in Hong Kong stand a chance to win a 365-day supply of Chicken McNuggets. To participate in this initiative, users only have to enter their email address.
The Sandbox's co-founder and chief operating officer, Sebastien Borget, expressed excitement about this collaboration. He believes this partnership has propelled The Sandbox to unprecedented heights, accelerating its vision of the Metaverse's mass adoption.

This is not McDonald's first venture into the Web3 world. Last year, McDonald's China commemorated its 31st local anniversary by issuing 188 non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
The Sandbox also has quite an extensive list of companies that it enabled to jump into the Metaverse. The Web3 company has teamed up with almost 400 organizations, including big names like Ubisoft, Warner Music Group, Adidas, Gucci, and renowned personalities and franchises like Snoop Dogg, The Walking Dead and The Smurfs.
