A new overture is played in the digital space as The Sandbox announces its partnership with Warner Music Group (WMG). The announcement, made on Thursday, January 27, revealed the plans to develop a ​​musical theme park and concert venue inside the virtual metaverse.
Inside the new space within The Sandbox, titled the Warner Music Group LAND, artists will host concerts and players will be able to experience live performances like never before.

This is WMG’s first venture into the world of metaverse and NFTs. According to the statement, the WMG LAND will be the first of its kind. It has been shared that the goal of this collaboration is to empower WMG artists by creating unique immersive social experiences between artists and fans.
In addition to the social aspect and the ability to experiment with audio-visual and virtual entertainment, the WMG LAND could serve as an additional source of revenue for artists and their labels.
COO and Co-Founder of the Sandbox, Sebastien Borget, shared his vision for the collaboration in a statement, saying it would bring the game’s immersive virtual world “one step forward in the direction of fan-owned and community-driven initiatives.”
We’re shaping The Sandbox as a fun entertainment destination where creators, fans, and players can enjoy first-of-a-kind immersive experiences and be more closely connected to their favorite musical artists through NFTs.
With the increased interest in metaverses, The Sandbox has been one of the biggest players on the field. The company reported that a LAND sale would be held in March later this year, allowing artists and fans alike to buy LANDS adjacent to the Warner property.
WMG is the latest to join The Sandbox’s ever-growing list of metaverse collaborations, including Adidas, The Walking Dead, Steve Aoki, and CryptoKitties.
