According to the official announcement issued on July 26th, Wharton, a prestigious business school founded back in 1881, will work shoulder to shoulder with an economics consulting company Prysm Group.

The official report also read that participants will be able to delve into a number of contemporary topics, such as virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, as well as explore various blockchain environments, including The Sandbox and Decentraland.

Kevin Werbach, the program’s academic director, commented on the initiative and mentioned that the metaverse is still in its early stages, thus, it is essential to educate people about the opportunities in such an innovative ecosystem. He added:

"We designed this program for business professionals and executives from a range of backgrounds, including finance, management, and tech."

On top of that, during these six weeks, students will have the opportunity to gain theoretical and practical knowledge from a number of prominent guest speakers, including Snap, The New York Times, Adobe, Animoca Brands, The Wall Street Journal, Unity, and others.

Likewise, the high-profile school is also planning to roll out over 50 lecture-based videos where a number of teachers who have experience in the metaverse field will share their knowledge.

The certificate program, which will supposedly cost $4500 and require between 8 to 10 hours of studying per week, will be fired up on September 12th. The school noted that students wishing to enter the crash course can pay for the program in a number of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

In fact, this isn’t the first time Wharton has been exploring the crypto world, as in January, the school launched a six-week program dubbed Economics of Blockchain and Digital Assets.

In other news, last week, the University of Tokyo, also known as Todai, announced a collection of educational programs taking place in the metaverse to educate students about the lack of people working in the digital transformation field.
