Twitter users can now directly view stock, crypto and ETF prices without leaving the social media platform.
Twitter, an American social media platform established in 2006, has launched a new feature, “$Cashtags,” allowing users to check cryptocurrency, major stock and exchange-traded fund (ETF) prices on its platform.
According to the Twitter Business tweet, by typing stock, crypto or ETF symbols with $ in front, users can access pricing graphs of the subject.

It is worth noting that at the time of writing, the feature displays only Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) crypto price charts. However, in the tweet, Twitter Business highlighted that, in the upcoming weeks, the company plans to expand its coverage symbols.
It appears that many variations of crypto symbols can be used to find the price charts. Users will find the same information by typing “$Ethereum,” “Ethereum price,” and “ETH price.” By writing the same variations but changing Ethereum to Bitcoin, Twitter users will find BTC price charts.
On December 22nd, Twitter’s CEO Elon celebrated the new feature on Twitter and stated that it is one of many improvements coming to “financial Twitter.”
Tech blogger Jane Mastodon Wong analyzed the charts in greater detail and used Twitter to note that graphs are sourced from the trading analysis platform TradingView.
Nevertheless, at the bottom of the crypto price chart, users can notice a “View on Robinhood” button. After clicking on the interactive button, users are directed to the crypto exchange's Robinhood price chart for Ethereum or Bitcoin. Moreover, in the right corner, the display contains an additional bright button dubbed “Sign Up to Buy.”
This suggests that Twitter may have collaborated with the cryptocurrency exchange Robinhood. However, no details about the deal were revealed.
In other Twitter-related news, at the beginning of December, rumours started spreading that Twitter is planning to launch its native coin, called Twitter Coin.
