The exclusive pre-sale for BAYC community members started on December 2nd. The rest of the Bored Ape or Mutant Ape NFT holders gained access to purchase their Timepiece Forge Pass NFT on December 4th. The pass retails for 2 Ethereum (ETH) (around $2600), with holders able to purchase it until the end of the year.
When talking about TIMEX's collaboration with Bored Ape Yacht Club, TIMEX Group Senior Vice President (SVP) of Global Marketing and Creative Services, Shari Fabiani, stated:
Timex is entering Web3 by keeping creativity and community at the forefront. In partnership with the BAYC community, we are redefining and pushing the boundaries of physical, virtual and now phygital products.
The Timepiece Forge Pass will allow customers to “validate the watch's authenticity.” On top of that, starting mid-December, the pass owners will be able to enter the TIMEX website and customize their “one-on-one watch.”
In the press release, long-term Bored Ape community member, Josh Ong, stated:
From customizing the digital collectible and unboxing the physical watch to flexing at Ape Fest, these incredible timepieces will delight Ape holders and keep them guessing at surprises yet to come.
Along with a customized watch, each customer will receive a digital version of their watch as a non-fungible token (NFT). The NFTs and physical wristwatches are expected to be distributed in the second quarter of 2023.
