EthereScan is an Ethereum blockchain explorer, and analytics platform.
Recently, the platform added a feature that allows anons to message each other via Ethereum-based wallet-to-wallet service - “Blokscan Chat”.
For now, the messaging feature is being tested. Therefore, it allows users to try out the instant messaging via wallet addresses, get a notification on the block explorer when a message has been received, access dialogues from multiple devices, and take care of spams or unwanted messages.

If you wish, let’s say, to take part in an anonymous purchase - the new feature might help dealing with whitehat hackers (hackers who use their skills to target any vulnerabilities in networks, hardware or even software). Particularly the ones that could have left messages embedded in Ethereum transactions and exploited crypto platforms.
Moreover, there were a few incidents recently. For instance, an anonymous discussion via Ethereum transactions was in action between the culprit and victims, when a supposed multichain whitehat hacker returned the $610 million PolyNetwork, and 322 Ether from last year.
Etherescan slowly and secretly revealed their new addition by a tweet with a screenshot showing the platform and messenger notifications. Additionally saying “wonder what this is for?...”
It’s worth knowing that any users who violate use policies, and provide innacurate information, could be banned from some or all Etherscan and Blokscans’s services.
Furthermore, Blockscan stated that in terms of user privacy and data storage, their information is kept through the medium of “global hosting providers”. Any inactive data is deleted after 24 months by using serves in multiple regions.
The information will be transferred to partners such as warehouses, IT service providers and data analysts. But, it definitely won’t be traded to third parties.
Keeping that in mind, another Twitter user by the username “bdmartino” pointed out that it can actually become the competitor of the marketplace OpenSea. Following that he explained that if a decentralized exchange conducted the transaction between buyers and sellers, the fees that come with OpenSea and NFTs would be significantly reduced.
So, the new feature can be even integrated into the NFT world as a valuable tool.
