A video that recently came to light has sparked outrage over the severe treatment of Tigran Gambaryan, head of financial crime compliance at Binance, who is currently imprisoned in Nigeria.
The footage has intensified calls for his release as his health continues to worsen.
Gambaryan appeared in court on September 2, and soon after, a video surfaced showing Gambaryan struggling to move and asking the guard for a wheelchair, only to be ignored and forced to walk without proper support.

Binance CEO Richard Teng reposted the video on X, describing the treatment of Gambaryan as "inhumane" and urging that he be released for medical treatment.
His legal team has recently filed a new bail motion, emphasizing the need for his release due to his deteriorating health. However, despite the defense presenting medical records indicating Gambaryan requires urgent surgery, representatives of Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) argued that his health condition was not as severe as claimed.
The court is scheduled to review the bail request on September 4.
Family members of the detained executive have voiced their alarm over his deteriorating health, highlighting in a statement:
He is no longer able to walk from the pain of his untreated herniated disc or spinal injury. The prison is also refusing to provide him with a wheelchair.
Gambaryan has been detained since February 2024 over allegations of financial misconduct involving $34 million linked to Binance's operations in Nigeria.
The situation has sparked action from supporters and human rights advocates, who are urging immediate intervention to protect Gambaryan from further harm.
