Previously, “Ryoshi” had mentioned that he would eventually abandon the community as he felt that his presence in the project was not needed anymore. The founder added:
“I have said from the beginning, I am a nobody, I am not important. The efforts to unmask my “identity” even if successful would be underwhelming. I am just some guy of no consequence tapping at a keyboard and I am replaceable. I am Ryoshi.”
“Ryoshi's” identity, like that of Bitcoin (BTC) creator Satoshi Nakamoto, still remains a mystery. As of now, it is unclear whether he plans to come back to Shiba Inu.
One of the project’s devs, “Shytoshi Kusama”, noted that Shiba Inu (SHIB) will continue to fully function as it did until now. On top of that, the plan is to continue creating a decentralized ecosystem for the dog-based memecoin by bringing “Ryoshi’s” vision to light. In a recent blog post, “Kusama” additionally expressed his opinion about "Ryoshi" and implied:
“Ryoshi was, and is, one of the most successful anonymous founders of any project, ever. Though I don’t know his identity, his legacy lives on in the Shib token, Shib Ecosystem, and all the projects we foresee to decentralize the world.”
"Ryoshi's" Medium account has been completely wiped, and any effort to visit any of his blogs results in a 404 error.
SHIB was launched back in 2020 as a decentralized memecoin and named after the Japanese breed of dog called Shiba Inu.
Today, Shiba Inu is up 1.61% in the last 24 hours. On top of that, the memecoin is also in the top 20 list of the biggest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization and is estimated at $6.4 billion.
Earlier this year, Shiba Inu announced that the project dubbed “Shib: The Metaverse” will feature a SHIB-based ecosystem, with tokens such as $BONE and $LEASH also included in the metaverse.
