The US-based wireless technology corporation has announced its new initiative towards developing innovative metaverse content.
According to an official press release by Qualcomm Incorporated, the company has set up a $100 million Snapdragon Metaverse Fund for developers and startups that will focus on creating “immersive XR experiences, as well as associated core augmented reality (AR) and related artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.”
CEO and President of Qualcomm Cristiano Amon spoke on the recently launched metaverse fund, highlighting the company’s efforts to connect virtual and digital worlds and create an immersive experience for consumers. He added:

More than that, Qualcomm’s fund will also take up extended reality (XR) projects and creators in several areas like education, sports, media, and offer them grant programs to help the growth of their ecosystems.
Startups that receive the fund will also be able to access Qualcomm’s own XR technology innovations, opportunities to work with new investors and promoters.
