The world-renowned soccer club has posted several trademark applications for areas related to digital assets.
Based on a Twitter post by Mike Kondoudis, who posts the latest NFT and metaverse trademarks from major brands, announced that the Paris Saint-Germain has patented its presence in the metaverse.
According to a report, the NFTs will possibly include rights to sports highlights and audio, merchandise that is wearable in the metaverse, hardware cryptocurrency wallets, and a digital asset management platform.

While there haven’t been any official announcements on PSG entering the metaverse, Kondoudis spoke on the soccer club’s upcoming initiative, stating:
"Paris Saint-Germain is one of the world's best-known football clubs, and the value attached to the team's name and brand is substantial. This filing represents the next logical step to protect the brand as it moves into the Metaverse."
The attorney claims that PSG "sees the potential of the Metaverse" and is looking to jump onto the hype train before it’s too late. According to him, more professional teams will be trademarking certain units for "NFT and virtual products and services" in a year’s time.
Back in February, Premier League soccer club Manchester City F.C. announced that it will have its home stadium in the metaverse where fans will be able to explore the arena and watch games from any angle.
