The Northwest Arkansas Council is now offering tech industry professionals a $10K BTC incentive to work in the region remotely.
As the blockchain industry expands into global markets, and world-renowned tech centers such as Silicon Valley get their personnel snatched by crypto giants, Northwest Arkansas sets out to bring industry professionals to their side with generous incentives.
Based on the report by PR Newswire, the Council of Northwest Arkansas will be handing out $10,000 worth of Bitcoin (~0.23 BTC), access to cultural facilities, and street or mountain bicycles with which potential workers may travel the region’s "incredible mountain biking trails and paved paths." The council called this incentive offer the Bitcoin and a Bike.

Nelson Peacock, President, and CEO of Northwest Arkansas Council commented on the incentive, stating:
"This expanded incentive offer — Bitcoin and a Bike — not only embraces the growing trend toward the use of cryptocurrency as a payment option by employers, but also helps increase our pipeline of talent to benefit tech employers, startups, cities, local businesses and the region overall."
Tech professionals, who want to receive their incentive and participate in the program, will need to relocate to Northwest Arkansas within 6 months after they’re accepted, and be eligible to work remotely.
The offer was coupled with Northwestern Arkansas Council’s talent incentive program which seeks to attract other STEAM professionals that aren't necessarily in the crypto industry. There were over 35K applications since the program launched in November of 2021.
