The world-renowned female tennis player will go into a multi-year partnership with one of the largest crypto exchanges.
Several celebrities have made partnership deals with cryptocurrency firms in order to bring awareness to digital assets, and their respective exchanges.
FTX’s latest agreement with Naomi Osaka will act as an initiative to familiarize more women with the crypto industry and its financial opportunities. According to the official press release, Osaka will become the official FTX global ambassador with an equity stake in the crypto exchange, and acquire an undisclosed amount of digital assets as part of the deal.

The tennis player is a known activist for social justice, and will become "one of the first major female professional athletes to partner with FTX." With the agreement, Osaka will be responsible for creating crypto-backed content and is expected to get involved in crypto trading.
CEO of FTX Sam Bankman-Fried spoke on the partnership with the female professional athlete, highlighting the need for the crypto industry to participate in social causes. He added:
"Our partnership with Naomi Osaka will further our goal of getting more diverse voices involved in the future of digital currency and Web3. I am excited to work with Naomi as we look to educate those groups and create a positive impact in the world."
As part of the agreement with Osaka, FTX will fund her Play Academy charity which focuses on enabling young women to participate in sports. According to Osaka, the crypto industry is still distant from most women, and, with the accessibility of digital assets, she seeks to "innovate on new ways to reach more people and further democratize the space."
The FTX crypto exchange has been a long supporter of sports initiatives. Back in December of 2021, FTX made a partnership deal with 4 different sports teams to bring awareness to crypto amongst fans.
