World-class automobile manufacturer Mercedes announced that its G-class series cars will be digitally interpreted as NFTs.
On January 17th, Mercedes posted a tweet stating that they’ll be teaming up with a group of five NFT artists to recreate the famous G-class series cars into their digital forms. The name of the project is a play on words on the NFT abbreviation - the NF-G Challenge.

Based on the video posted by Mercedes, artists will use sketches, 3D modeling software, and car schematics to create digital representations of G-class series cars, with a touch of their own artistic ability.
The artists involved in the project will be Antoni Tudisco, Anthony Authie, Roger Kilimanjaro, Vasjen Katro (Baugasm), and Charlotte Taylor who come from various artistry backgrounds including music/fashion design, creative marketing, luxury fashion, etc.
NFTs will be listed on Gemini's digital art auction platform Nifty Gateway on January 23rd.
Besides Mercedes, other car manufacturers have already shown interest in blockchain technologies, especially NFTs. In late December of 2021, Ferrari announced that it will be partnering up with a startup blockchain Velas for a potential NFT release.
