A press release by Tezos Foundation revealed that current and future Google Cloud customers will have access to the Tezos corporate baking program.

Google Cloud customers seeking to build Web3 apps can easily deploy nodes and indexers on the Tezos protocol. The partnership also makes Google Cloud a Tezos Proof-of-Stake validator.

Developers and companies will be able to host and deploy RPC nodes for Web3 apps with ease. They will leverage the strength of the Tezos blockchain and the resilience and scalability of Google Cloud infrastructure. In its press release, Tezos revealed that it has thus far helped banks and various institutions enter Web3 via its corporate baking program.

Google Cloud engineering director for Web3, James Tromans, commented on the partnership by stating:

At Google Cloud, we’re providing secure and reliable infrastructure for Web3 founders and developers to innovate and scale their applications. We look forward to bringing the dependability and scalability of Google Cloud to power Web3 applications on Tezos.

Tezos Foundation is a non-profit foundation based in Switzerland and the main backer of the Tezos blockchain. The blockchain is designed as an open-source Proof-of-Stake blockchain with over 2.3 million funded accounts. Thus far, it has had successful partnerships with major brands like McLaren, Manchester United, and Société Générale.

Google Cloud continues to explore blockchain technology. In October 2022, Google Cloud launched Blockchain Node Engine (BNE), which allows Web3 companies to deploy smart contracts, relay transactions, and read or write blockchain data on Google Cloud.
