Hackers strike once more, while a convicted felon plans to launch her own NFT collection.
On June 19, the Twitter account of Duppies, the newest upcoming DeGod’s NFT project, was reportedly hacked. The initiative supposedly offered a limited-time “stealth mint” of NFTs.
A Twitter user called "Helloimmorgan" was the first to share the news, implying that numerous wallets are being completely drained:

Apparently, the hackers posted a phishing link on Duppie’s official Twitter account, which the users followed and gave full control of their NFT wallets. One of the users within the community stated that they managed to lose 650 Solana (SOL), estimated at $18,850.
Since the incident, the team behind Duppies has requested Twitter to delist the account. In fact, a number of communities, including Solana and DeGods NFT, have been constantly issuing warnings to users to not click on the phishing links if they don’t want to lose all of their money.
Interestingly enough, the creator of the collection collaborated with Code Monkey and got down to the roots of the hacking incident. The security auditor stated that the hacker was able to access Duppies Twitter account in a targeted SIM swap attack.
It seems as though hacks are becoming a significant problem for players in the crypto ecosystem. For instance, earlier in June, Yuga Labs stated that two of its discord servers were hacked, which resulted in a loss of 200 Ethereum (ETH) worth of NFTs. Back in May, a Proof Collective Member lost 29 Moonbird NFTs, worth around $1.5M, in a hacking incident.
Convicted felon launches her own NFT collection
Anna Sorokin, mostly known as a fraudster that stole a significant amount of money from various businesses while disguising herself as a German heiress Anna Delvey, has announced plans to roll out her own non-fungible tokens (NFTs) collection.
The exclusive collection of NFTs will reportedly feature 20 gold edition cards, with which the holders will have the opportunity to meet Sorokin face-to-face. On top of that, Sorokin will reward the owners with a bundle of “personal items.”
According to the official announcement, the NFTs collection, dubbed “Reinventing Anna,” will reportedly feature 2,000 NFTs for 0.1 Ether (ETH) each a piece, estimated at roughly $110 at the time of writing. On top of that, with the first drop, pseudonymous Anna Delvey will try to directly communicate with her audience “and take charge of the narrative that’s been largely outside of my control.”
Sorokin mentioned that she is turning over a new leaf and trying to move away from her “scammer persona.” She added:
“This is, like totally, has been pushed upon me by the prosecution and by the following media and by the Netflix show, but I’m trying to move away from that definitely.”
Sorokin was previously accused of eight felonies and spent around four years of her life in jail. Currently, she remains in custody and faces possible deportation to Germany.
