One of the largest internet personalities Dr Disrespect has announced his digital art collection, launched on his own game development studio.
With multiple celebrities launching their non-fungible tokens to drive fan engagement, the new wave of internet personalities has also jumped on the hype train.
On March 10th, the Youtube and gaming personality posted a tweet, announcing that he had resolved earlier legal issues with the streaming platform Twitch. Even though the time in court both Dr Disrespect and Twitch ended in a stalemate, the Youtuber confirmed that he will not be returning to the streaming platform.

Later on, he posted a sneak peek of his new project named the Midnight Protocol which will supposedly be Dr Disrespect’s own video game. However, several gaming news outlets caught up on the story, announcing that the game will be built around the metaverse, and early backers of the game will be awarded NFTs.
According to the Midnight Society website, the Founders pass will feature benefits like exclusive in-game items, voting rights, access to real-life events, merchandise, and will be given a heads-up on the latest drops.
The Founder Pass is only limited to 10,000 applicants who will be selected in less than seven days. Access to the contents of the pass will cost each applicant $50.
Knowing that the gaming community is not very fond of the NFT market, there have been several replies on the news story about Dr Disrespect’s NFT project. Several users weren’t very receptive to the idea of an NFT-backed game, while others were simply not in favor of the Youtuber "pushing" his digital assets while the game hasn’t even been released yet.
Dr Disrespect wasn’t happy about the publication by Dexerto and the responses from the community. However, one journalist from the media company took Dr Disrespect’s side, arguing that the NFTs will not directly affect the game and they will be completely optional.
The fear of "anything crypto" in the gaming community might have stemmed from other Youtube personalities involving themselves in shady projects, and promoting fraudulent crypto campaigns.
Over a month ago, Youtube personality Ice Poseidon admitted to rug pulling his community for $750K. Not only that, at the end of February, one Youtube influencer promoted an NFT project called Squiggles which was later exposed for being an NFT rug pull, and the creators almost got away with millions of dollars.
