However, to spend Bitcoin or other crypto, users will need to download SPEDN or Gemini mobile apps. Customers may then use the application to make a payment in-store by simply tapping it.
In addition, Chipotle is offering new customers a 10% discount on their next purchase. The deal, however, is only valid if users pay for their order in digital money using the Flexa app.
Moreover, according to a survey released on Crypto.com back in February, around 4% of retailers were already taking payments in various cryptocurrencies. However, about 60% expressed an interest to accept cryptocurrency sometime in 2023.
Flexa has also joined forces with other various businesses, including Regal Theaters, an American movie theater chain located in Knoxville, and Bancoagrícola, El Salvador-based banking institution.
Last year, the Crypto Street Restaurant located in Clearwater Beach announced that it would start accepting digital currency as payment for street food. Customers are able to pay for their order through a merchant account, or by sending the cryptocurrency directly to the restaurant owner's digital wallet.
On a funny note, back in January, Elon Musk offered to eat a kid’s meal from McDonald’s on live television if the worldwide fast-food giant agrees to add Dogecoin (DOGE) as an official payment method. However, the restaurant didn’t accept the offer.
Likewise, Panama-based financial institution Towerbank has also stated that it would start accepting Bitcoin (BTC) and allow its customers to open up crypto accounts.
