Pham stated that the meetings were to discuss crypto regulation in length and highlight the importance of identifying and implementing industry standards.
When questioned about recent issues within the crypto space, such as the fight between the Winklevoss twins and Barry Silbert, Pham expressed concern and stated that regulators must use existing authorities to provide clarity and hold crypto financial instruments to the same standards as other financial instruments.
"What I'd like to do is to see the CFTC and other regulators provide more guidance this year, and I'm very hopeful that perhaps we will see more clarity in the United States,” she expressed her hopes from US regulators in 2023.
Pham also emphasized the importance of identifying frameworks that apply to non-financial crypto activities and blockchain technology use cases.
The commissioner stressed the importance of not being content with just maintaining the status quo but constantly thinking about what more can be done to improve the crypto industry.
