Varus is one of the biggest grocery store chains in Ukraine, with more than 111 stores across 28 cities. With its new collaboration, the supermarket chain will allow customers to pay using cryptocurrencies and enjoy fast delivery.

Based on the announcement, the company will be delivering to 9 Ukrainian cities, Kyiv, Pavlograd, Kamianske, Vyshhorod, Kryvyi Rih, Brovary, Zaporizhzhia, and Nikopol.

Moreover, the partnership is celebrated by launching a reward program, eligible from September 15th to October 15th.

The collaboration offers two initiatives. The first one will give a reward worth UAH 100 (around $3) to customers who make an order worth more than UAH 500 (around $14) and have used Binance Pay to pay for their order.

Another set of rewards will be distributed weekly. Binance will choose 5 random winners from those customers who used Binance Pay to purchase their goods, rewarding each of them with UAH 5,000 (around $135). Throughout the week, Binance will distribute UAH 25,000 (around $677), in total giving away UAH 100,000 (around $2707).

It is not the first time cryptocurrency payments are available for Ukrainian citizens. Earlier this year, Binance Pay was integrated into Ukrainian home appliances and electronics store, Foxtrot.

Moreover, European exchange Whitepay has also provided an ability to use cryptocurrency payments to purchase items from Ukrainian stores, such as Tehnoezh and Stylus.

The Ukrainian mass crypto adoption has captured the attention of Ethereum (ETH) co-founder Vitalik Buterin, which during the 2022 Kyiv Tech Summit hosted on September 6th-9th, noted:

A country can become a Web3 hub if its citizens are actively interested in this technology and decide to make a major contribution to its development. Ukraine has both the capabilities and the determination to do this.

It is worth remembering that back in April, Binance launched payment cards for Ukrainian refugees.
