According to Coin ATM Radar data, the country has 364 ATMs installed across the whole of Australia. The data suggests that Australia continues to focus on expanding fiat-to-crypto conversion points.
While Asia houses substantial economic players like China, Japan, Singapore, and India, the continent only hosts 355 crypto machines, accounting for 1% of the global total. This allowed Australia to surpass the whole continent in crypto ATM adoption.
In contrast to leading European countries and the United States, which experienced a decline in ATM installations over the past eight months, Australia never stopped installing more Bitcoin ATMs, demonstrating a remarkable commitment to fostering cryptocurrency adoption.
Interestingly, this growth in Australia comes at a time when worldwide crypto ATM installations have been experiencing a downward trend. According to Coin ATM Radar data, in March, countries uninstalled over 3,600 ATMs across the globe.
The number of overall crypto ATM installations started dropping since the beginning of 2023, with more than 5,000 ATMs removed since January.
Australia's dedication to expanding its Bitcoin ATM network showcases its commitment to supporting cryptocurrency adoption, even as the global market appears to be slowing down.
