The festivity, designed exclusively for holders of Bored and Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFTs, became a cause for concern when, on November 5th, several attendees started experiencing vision and skin problems.

An inquiry with event organizers Jack Morton Worldwide revealed that UV-A emitting lights at the venue are suspected to be the origin of these health issues. Despite the wide use of UVA lights, ranging from tanning beds to nightclub effects, BAYC has not disclosed the specific details of the fixtures used at ApeFest.
UV radiation, predominantly comprising UVA light, poses risks that are well-documented by organizations like the World Health Organization and the United States National Eye Institute, emphasizing the potential for increased eye-related problems.
