However, crypto community members were not left in the dark about this matter. Shortly after the tweets started surfacing Deaton's company, the CryptoLaw, took to Twitter to warn customers about the hack.
It clarified that the tweets promoting the LAW token, a cryptocurrency with a barely existent market cap, were the handiwork of hackers, not Deaton himself. They assured followers that immediate steps were being taken to rectify the situation.
The unfortunate hacking incident coincided with Deaton's birthday celebration amidst wishes pouring in from various quarters of the cryptocurrency community. Known for his tenacity in challenging regulatory actions from US authorities, Deaton has made a significant name for himself within the crypto world.
The propagation of false information and misleading financial data in the crypto market is a serious concern. Traders often depend on advice from influential industry figures, and such deceitful actions destabilize the market.
Responding proactively, Deaton contacted his Twitter followers through his daughter Jordan Deaton’s Twitter account to inform them of the hack and requested the community's support in reporting it.
The incident came shortly after Deaton appeared on the Good Morning Crypto podcast and discussed Ripple's legal case with US SEC.
The hacking incident serves as a stark reminder of the persistent cybersecurity threats in the crypto world. The situation is handled actively, and the community anticipates Deaton's triumphant return to his Twitter account.
