X Bans Sahil Arora for Alleged Memecoin Scams

Sahil Arora, known for promoting various celebrity memecoins, has had his @Habibi_Comm account on X suspended due to allegations of fraud.

Arora's account was accused of posting fake screenshots of conversations with rapper Iggy Azalea and promoting questionable celebrity memecoins, leading to his suspension for violating the platform's guidelines.

Azalea, who has launched her own memecoin MOTHER, publicly distanced herself from Arora. Olympian Caitlyn Jenner and rapper Rich the Kid also accused Arora of scams involving memecoins using their names (JENNER and RICH, respectively).

Despite these accusations, Arora has continued to advertise supposedly fake partnerships. On June 3, he claimed a partnership with crypto exchange BingX, which the company denied, and boasted relationships with high-profile celebrities like boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and actress Lindsay Lohan.

Before the ban, Arora also promoted a memecoin project involving rapper Kiari Kendrell Cephus, known as Offset, who, like others, accused Arora of fraud.

Even with his account suspended, Arora is believed to maintain multiple accounts on X and has redirected followers to a new account via his Telegram channel.

This case highlights the issues related to crypto promotions, as scammers continue to affect both investors and celebrities.

In other news, the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre recently revealed that scammers are increasingly using dating apps and websites to conduct "pig butchering" scams. These scams involve building trust with victims through romance and then luring them into investing in fake crypto schemes.
