The work of the alliance will be based on four principles: decentralization, transparency, democratization, and inclusiveness.
In its official announcement, the organization states:
We believe in a metaverse without restraining walls, where individual platforms are interconnected and fully interoperable. To realize this goal of an open metaverse we are announcing the creation of OMA3™ and invite all blockchain-based metaverse companies to join.”
OMA3 is set to function as a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), meaning that the environment will be guided “by the principles of inclusiveness, transparency, and decentralization.”
The alliance will focus exclusively on issues related to the metaverse and possible regulations for procedures, non-fungible tokens, portals between digital worlds, their mapping, and indexing.
After the news broke about the creation of the alliance, metaverse platforms are sharing their excitement through various channels.
In the blog posted by Alien Worlds, the Co-founder and Co-CEO of Upland, Dirk Lueth, shared his enthusiasm:
It is very encouraging to see that the current builders of the blockchain-based Metaverse share the common vision that they need to work together so users can control and enjoy their digital assets across different platforms.”
The alliance encourages everyone interested to join The Global NFT Summit London, which will be taking place on July 22. During the conference, the formation of this alliance will be discussed in great detail.
