SBF will soon become the main character of the animated comedy series "FORTUN3."
The often flashy world of cryptocurrency is set to be the subject of a new animated comedy series entitled "FORTUN3," a satirical take on the defunct crypto exchange FTX, known for its wild exploits and questionable business tactics.
"FORTUN3" is the brainchild of the emerging Web3 studio, Toonstar, intending to throw a humorous light on the excesses and failures of FTX. The plot circles around a character with a striking resemblance to FTX's ex-CEO, Sam Bankman-Fried, also known as SBF.

Toonstar CEO and co-founder John Attanasio revealed during the announcement at Comic-Con that the series aims to depict the uncontrolled tech optimism and easy-cash mentality that defined the essence of FTX and SBF.
However, the narrative won't be limited to FTX alone but will include allusions to other notorious business failures orchestrated by megalomaniacs claiming to be saviors. The character molded after SBF will be performed by the comedian T.J. Miller, known for his role in "Silicon Valley."
Attanasio stated that the series finds its inspiration from real-world personalities who are easily translatable into cartoons. He added:
We're going to be taking the stuff that you see in the headlines and then bring that into the series.
What sets "FORTUN3" apart is Toonstar's innovative use of Web3 technology, allowing fans to immerse themselves in the show's creative process. NFT-based applications are the key to this community participation, a concept Attanasio firmly believes is ready for a wider audience.
This unique series aims to strike a balance between the esoteric world of crypto and more universal themes, intending to make Web3 entertainment more mainstream. Attanasio stated:
Through the narrative, there’s going to be a lot of universal themes that hopefully will appeal to <people> not more versed in crypto. <...> We also believe that entertainment can be one of the use cases that can help take Web3 mainstream.
In a fascinating twist, the viewers of "FORTUN3" will have the opportunity to deepen their engagement via an online game set in the same universe as the series, accessible through an NFT. Although the specifics of the game are under wraps, it promises to tie closely with the series' plot, potentially offering some thrilling turns.
All signs indicate that "FORTUN3" is shaping up to be Toonstar's most ambitious venture to date, aiming to bring Web3 entertainment into the mainstream. As it turns out, the irony of the show's title may hint at a fortunate outcome for this new endeavor in the Web3 entertainment sphere.
