The Team Behind Shibarium Addresses Concerns over Bridge Challenges

Shiba Inu ecosystem co-founder calls Shibarium mainnet-related rumors FUD.

Shibarium, the Ethereum Layer-2 scaling blockchain, is making headlines following its recent launch. Amidst whispers of asset losses and bridge complications, the Shibarium team has been quick to set the record straight.

Just hours post-launch, certain crypto community members started sharing screenshots suggesting potential issues with the newly launched mainnet. The screenshots hinted at internal communications within the Shibarium developer team, alluding to difficulties in retrieving assets bridged to the Shibarium network

Responding to these claims, Shytoshi Kusama, the co-founder of the Shiba Inu (SHIB) ecosystem, published a blog post on August 17th. Kusma pointed out the sheer volume of transactions and heightened user activity as the main culprits for the reported glitches on Shibarium.

Drawing from Alchemy's data, Kusama highlighted the extraordinary figures:

Our team has been working tirelessly to scale (even though validators were already on autoscale when we made the announcement) and bring up the chain again to an extent that we can handle the influx of our decentralized nation-state.

He further mentioned that while they had anticipated a surge, the 160 million compute units amassed in a brief 30-minute window post-launch exceeded their forecasts. In his words:

Although we expected a very busy moment, we never expected this much traffic, instantly.

Blockchain investigator ZachXBT weighed in on the issue. He clarified that while he couldn't verify the rumored asset losses, there was indeed a compromise of the RPC - a vital component that runs the primary blockchain client software. Presently, the Shibarium RPC website is still inaccessible.

Emphasizing the team's dedication and commitment to rectifying any issues, Kusama made a plea to the community:

Give us time to scale <...> and then bring up our amazing chain once again.

Dismissing the circulating chatter, he referred to it as mere FUD - "fear, uncertainty, and doubt."

The crypto realm is no stranger to challenges, particularly when innovative platforms like Shibarium make their debut. While initial hiccups might arise, what remains crucial is transparent communication and a relentless commitment to improvement. The Shibarium team seems to embody both, ensuring their community remains informed and confident in their vision.
