Sony, through its subsidiary Sony Network Communications, has just revealed an exciting new partnership with Singapore's Web3 infrastructure tech firm Startale Labs.
According to the announcement shared on June 28th, Sony also invested $3.5 million in the Web3 startup. This investment marks Sony's latest stride towards building a robust global infrastructure supporting Web3 technologies.

Startale Labs, a trailblazer in the Web3 technology ecosystem, will benefit from the Sony partnership as it pushes forward with the development of its Web3 services and products.
In particular, through the collaboration, Startale Labs will work on creating a unique solution, bridging the gap between real-world assets and the Web3 industry. When talking about the solution, the CEO of Singapore's Web3 startup, Sota Watanabe, noted:
Developers and users need to understand blockchain tech stacks when interacting with Web3. We want to provide smooth experiences for general users and this tool will allow them to interact with the space without knowing it.
Overall, Watanabe was optimistic about the collaboration. The CEO believes that alliances with tech giants allow a new Web3 startup like Startale to "learn and leverage."
Sony Network Communications is widely recognized as a major fiber optic internet service provider. However, Sony's reach into the Web3 sector extends beyond this branch.
Other Sony units, such as Sony Interactive Entertainment, the power behind the PlayStation brand, have also explored Web3 and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) initiatives. In March 2023, it filed a patent enabling users to transfer and utilize NFTs across several gaming platforms.
