Pump.fun, a memecoin platform on Solana, has regained its lead over Tron's Sun Pump in daily token creation.
Data from Dune Analytics shows that Sun Pump produced 1,258 new tokens on September 4. This represents an 83% drop from the 7,531 tokens it created on August 21, when it overtook Pump.fun in both daily activity and revenue.
Meanwhile, there were 7,108 new tokens launched on Pump.fun over the past 24 hours, according to Dune data.

Sun Pump's decline in token production was accompanied by a decrease in daily active users, which dropped from 29,099 on August 21 to just 6,919 on September 4—a 76.5% decrease.
During this Sun Pump downturn, Tron founder Justin Sun took to X to tease a "celebrity season" coming to the network.
This year, Pump.fun had its own wave of celebrity-themed memecoins, many of them launched by crypto promoter Sahil Arora. The platform saw tokens created for high-profile figures like Caitlyn Jenner, Jason Derulo, and Iggy Azalea, among others.
When questioned about any involvement in Tron's upcoming "celebrity season," Arora didn't provide any details. However, he has collaborated with the network before, securing celebrity promotions for Tron, which suggests he might be linked to the new initiative.
As Sun Pump's metrics continue to slide, all eyes are on Tron's next move and how the "celebrity season" might influence the platform's recovery.
In other news, rumors spread in June that former SEC official David Hirsch was involved with Pump.fun. However, he denied any connections to the platform.
