Mark Longo, the man behind the internet-famous squirrel P'Nut and raccoon Fred, has sparked controversy by launching a new cryptocurrency token and threatening to sue the crypto community.

P'Nut and Fred recently passed away, drawing a lot of attention because of P'Nut's massive online following of over 500,000 fans.

Longo posted a video on X, sharing how he’s been dealing with their loss and announced his token on the Solana SOL $226.47 blockchain called Justice for Pnut and Fred (JUSTICE) to honor his beloved pets.

He also called out the crypto community, accusing them of making money off his personal tragedy. “The crypto world has taken my tragedy and has profited it in every which way possible”, Longo said, calling it “devastating things” he’s been through.

However, Longo went ahead and launched his token, saying:

Supporters of the existing PNUT token fired back, pointing out that Longo had received about $50,000 in donations, which they claim he quickly cashed out.
