You can almost hear the drumroll - crypto's prepping for something big 🥁 The Fear and Greed Index is sitting at 80 in "Greed", as Bitcoin's been swinging between $95K and $98K since Friday.
Tea straight from the corporate world: Michael Saylor presented to Microsoft's CEO and shareholders yesterday, pitching the idea that Bitcoin should become their treasury asset. His message was clear: Microsoft needs to adopt Bitcoin or risk falling behind. Saylor estimates that with BTC, Microsoft's market cap could increase from $3.18T to $8.1T. Does Microsoft understand? We'll find out next Tuesday when shareholders vote on adding Bitcoin to the balance sheet.
Bitcoin's recent performance certainly gives Saylor's argument some extra backing. BTC posted its largest-ever monthly candle at $26.4K in November - its second-best month this year.
Now, what's December holding for us? While Bitcoin hasn't cracked the $100K line yet, trends suggest it might be just around the corner. Historically, Bitcoin has seen big surges in December following the US presidential elections. And knowing that the ecosystem is stronger than ever before, we might be in for a thrilling end to the year.
Btw, Ethereum is making headlines of its own. Last Friday, Ethereum ETFs saw their largest single-day inflow since launching, with net inflows hitting $332.9M. And for the first time ever, Ethereum ETF inflows outpaced Bitcoin's, which stood at $320M. That's a huge milestone for ETH ETFs and a clear sign of growing interest.
So yeah, that drumroll's definitely loud, but what's the big reveal gonna be? You can be sure we'll be the first to let you know 📢

🚀 Up, up and away
It's a chill afternoon. You're on your way home, earphones in, walking like the main character you know you are. Then, out of nowhere, you notice everyone around you is staring at the sky, all smiley and excited. So, naturally, you look up too - and you see this massive light.
"Wtf is that? A comet? Are we gonna die?" you ask the nearest stranger.
"Have you been living under a rock? That's the crypto rocket, duh," they reply.
|
YES, the crypto rocket's still on full blast, and it's showing no signs of slowing down.
Less than two weeks ago, we covered Stellar and Hedera's moon missions (catch up here if you missed it). And today's astronaut crew? XRP, Algorand, and Hosky - all ready for a space adventure.
1/ XRP
Ripple's XRP's in full-on sicko mode rn - shooting up 40.53% in the past day and 86.49% this week to hit $2.65. Oh, and casually flipping Solana and Tether to claim the #3 spot in market cap. What's been cookin' here?
- Rumor has it the NY Department of Financial Services gave Ripple a nod for its RLUSD stablecoin, with a potential launch this Wednesday;
- Gary Gensler resigned, and people are talking that Ripple's years-long SEC lawsuit could finally get dropped;
- XRP ETFs might be on the horizon - WisdomTree, Bitwise, 21Shares, and Canary Funds are all in line for approval. ETFs = more hype;
- Also, apparently, TikTok's algorithm out here working overtime to push XRP content.
2/ Algorand
ALGO's rocket surged by 86.92% over the past week, landing it at $0.5025 - highs not seen since 2022. What's adding the fuel?
A big boost came from the golden cross: it's a fancy name for when a short-term price trend (the 50-day average) crosses above a long-term one (the 200-day average). And that's a big flashing this could go up sign that gets traders pumped.
On top of that, the ALGO Foundation's India summit next week could've added to the momentum.
3/ Hosky Token
HOSKY, the Cardano memecoin, went absolutely wild - up 44% in a day, 222% in a week, and an insane 1916% in a month. Lol what, why?
It's mostly thanks to Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson dropping the most unhinged post about a project called Quantum Hosky. Here's how he described it:
"It's a multichain, open metaverse embedded in a 4 dimensional space with pockets of time dilation and non-Euclidean geometry with NPCs power by dishbrain computers and the entire world relies upon EEG assisted flow states to exist while gathering randomness from a photonic quantum random number generator used to entangle random parts of the gameworld to change inception style."
The public's reaction?

That last comment seems to sum it all up - nobody understood it, it might've been a joke, but it worked. HOSKY's flying higher than it ever has (although maybe not as high as Hoskinson was when he wrote this).
Overall, the crypto rocket's clearly on full-speed. And at this rate, we're not just aiming for the moon anymore - we're headed for wherever Hoskinson's 4D metaverse lives. Next stop? Who knows, but bring snacks.

🍋 News drops
💸 Meta's blockchain payment project, Diem, didn't fail on its own - it was allegedly taken down by political pressure. Co-creator David Marcus claims regulators had no legal grounds and used intimidation tactics to force banks to back out.
🏦 Hong Kong's central bank, the HKMA, launched the Digital Bond Grant Scheme (DBGS) to give tokenized bonds a boost in its financial markets. The program covers up to 50% of eligible costs for companies issuing tokenized bonds, with a cap of around $321K.
😬 Craig Wright got another reality check from the UK Court of Appeal, which shut down his latest attempt to prove he's Satoshi Nakamoto. My fave part: he cited a case called Anderson v The Queen [2013], which.. doesn't even exist. The court called it out as an "AI-generated hallucination."
🇪🇺 21X preps to launch the first EU-regulated financial market infrastructure (FMI) for tokenized money and securities. And the latest? They've teamed up with Chainlink - 21X's on-chain trading, matching, and settlement systems will tap into Chainlink's data and cross-chain interoperability to power up tokenized assets.
