Coinbase Commerce accepts payments in 10 cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Ether (ETH).
It is announced that Google will use Coinbase Prime for institutional crypto services, such as custody or reporting.
On the other hand, Coinbase is set to use Google Cloud to “build an advanced exchange and data services.” Crypto exchange will adopt Google Cloud’s compute platform to “process blockchain data at scale and enhance the global reach of its crypto services.”
Moreover, the announcement outlined Coinbase’s plans to build its global data platform, providing its customers with “machine learning-driven crypto insights.”
When talking about the partnership, Coinbase Co-founder and CEO Brian Armstrong highlighted:
We are excited Google Cloud has selected Coinbase to help bring Web3 to a new set of users and provide powerful solutions to developers. We could not ask for a better partner to help execute our vision of building a trusted bridge into the Web3 ecosystem.
The collaboration will also allow Web3 developers to access Google's BigQuery crypto databases powered by Coinbase Cloud Nodes. With this integration, developers will be able to “instantly and reliably operate Web3-based systems.” Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian noted:
We want to make building in Web3 faster and easier, and this partnership with Coinbase helps developers get one step closer to that goal. Our focus is making it frictionless for all customers to take advantage of our scalability, reliability, security, and data services, so they can focus on innovation in the Web3 space.
In September, Google Cloud partnered with BNB Chain to boost blockchain and Web3 startups. The collaboration aims to provide mentorship, foundational infrastructure, cloud computing credits, and technical support for newly emerging blockchain and Web3 projects.
