McLaren Racing team will use its crypto-inspired design for the 2022 Singapore Grand Prix and 2022 Japanese Grand Prix races.
McLaren Racing, a British Formula1 motor racing team, has an unveiled its crypto-inspired car livery created in collaboration with Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange OKX.
According to the blog post shared by McLaren, the design will be used on McLaren MCL36 F1 cars to celebrate the races returning to Asia for the first time since 2019.

The fans will be able to see the design not only on McLaren cars but also on the race suits of McLaren F1 drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris. The crypto-inspired livery will be used during the 2022 Singapore Grand Prix (September 30th to October 2nd) and the 2022 Japanese Grand Prix (October 7th to October 9th).
The “Future Campaign” was designed to enhance McLaren’s Fluro Papaya colorway with neon pink embellishments and cyberpunk-inspired engine illustrations.
When talking about the livery design, OKX Chief Marketing Officer Haider Rafique noted:
This new livery signals the arrival of bold new technology, and that is what OKX is all about. The cyberpunk design we created celebrates the influence of Web3 on popular culture and brings this exciting partnership to life on the racetrack. Making its debut at the night race in Singapore, this future-facing design mirrors the 24/7 nature of OKX and the cryptocurrency markets that never sleep.
The OKX CMO added that it is only the beginning for McLaren and OKX. According to Haider Rafique, both companies are eager to continue “pushing the boundaries of financial opportunity.”
McLaren will not leave its fans hanging, as limited-edition McLaren Racing x OKX Future Mode t-shirts will be available for purchase on McLaren Store. Moreover, the company is set to feature Future Mode lively in the F1 22 game, available from October 11th.
McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown noted that the campaign is McLaren’s and OKX’s attempt to break boundaries and present a unique livery.

Formula 1 seems to be exceptionally welcoming to Web3 innovations and crypto exchanges, with several teams having sponsors from this sector. On August 23rd, Formula 1 filed for two trademark registrations related to crypto and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
