Way back in January of 2012, for the first time ever,  Bitcoin was featured in a TV series. On a CBS drama “The Good Wife”, to be exact. Since then it became more common that crypto and blockchain topics appear in the media.

Speaking of celebrities, Kim Kardashian promoted the EthereumMax token to her Instagram followers. Jim Jefferies and Bill Burr revealed their cryptocurrency investments at some point also.

Going back to "South Park", the first episode of its 25th season showed people that refuse to wear masks, and scams connected with crypto investments.

Matt Damon's commercial, dubbed "fortune favors the bold," was targeted by specific characters in the show. It featured the celebrity discussing Crypto.com in front of a digital backdrop of historical personalities.

We just have to be brave... But not too brave or else Matt Damon will come and take all our money.

The initial idea can be linked to the fact that in January, cryptocurrencies lost about $500 billion in combined market capitalization. For example, Bitcoin fell from $42,000 to $35,000. It has fallen approximately 40% since Crypto.com released the ad with Damon.

Stephen Colbert, host of CBS's "The Late Show," contrasted Damon's enthusiasm for cryptocurrency to the accuracy of groundhog Punxsutawney Phil, who predicted six more weeks of winter.
