The show is known for its irony, dark, sarcastic humor about a wide range of topics. The target of the latest episode became the ad from crypto exchange Crypto.com. The ad featured Hollywood actor Matt Damon, and he was the main subject of mockery.
South Park is known to criticize the United States government's response to the 2008 financial crisis. Moreover, "South Park", as well as "The Simpsons" are known to be predicting the future in their series. It was said that crypto might become the only acceptable form of payment in the future, and NFTs can literally destroy humankind.

The initial idea can be linked to the fact that in January, cryptocurrencies lost about $500 billion in combined market capitalization. For example, Bitcoin fell from $42,000 to $35,000. It has fallen approximately 40% since Crypto.com released the ad with Damon.
Stephen Colbert, host of CBS's "The Late Show," contrasted Damon's enthusiasm for cryptocurrency to the accuracy of groundhog Punxsutawney Phil, who predicted six more weeks of winter.
