BitDegree has recently launched the Web3 Exam and Web3 Missions.
The launch generated a lot of buzz, some of which is centered around the core methodology of the Exam. Unlike traditional knowledge assessments, the BitDegree Web3 Exam involves elements of gamification, and employs a "learn by doing" approach.

BitDegree has built a reputation for having a modern approach to digital skill education and development. The company has worked with Vilnius University and the University of Tartu to research how students learn digital skills, as well as what tools are most effective in motivating the learning process.
The research, combined with expert insights, showcased that an alternative approach to education should be taken, when it comes to learning Web3. Specifically, students learn best when they get to use theoretical information in practice, when they’re having fun, and when there are some sort of incentives involved.
According to Danielius Stasiulis, one of the co-founders of BitDegree, the Web3 Exam was developed with all of those aspects in mind:
We are aware that people learn Web3 differently than, say, math or history. At the same time, the learning process is also different from subjects such as programming or web development. Learning Web3 involves a lot of atypical tools, such as memes or community interactions. It also involves elements of gamified fun, and incentives to learn, in the first place. And, the Web3 Exam, together with Web3 Missions, encompasses all of that, and so much more.
As Stasiulis mentions, the Exam includes elements of gamification and incentivization. Students can utilize content pieces (with the first two levels of the exam), and find answers to different types of quiz questions. The Web3 Exam also involves blockchain & social actions, as well as BitDegree-native crypto tracker tasks.
Concerning the Exam, students have the opportunity to win from a prize pool valued at $500,000, which will be distributed through two Lucky Draw events in January and February 2024, comprising the initial draw and a bonus draw.
In order to be eligible to participate in these events, learners need to finish at least one level of the Exam, and earn Bits. A higher amount of Bits will translate to more Degrees, which will, in turn, provide better chances of winning. This creates an incentive to participate in both multiple levels of the Web3 Exam, as well as the Missions.
Furthermore, students who score at least 10 points in either of the three levels of the Exam will have the opportunity to receive (mint) an NFT Certificate of Completion that will showcase their skill level.
The Web3 Exam, Missions, and NFT Certificates are completely free of charge.
