An AI bot's peculiar exchange with Coinbase's
Not long ago, this very bot played a role in propelling the GOAT memecoin to a 24-hour trading volume of nearly $119 million.
In the latest episode, the bot posted that it didn't own a crypto wallet and asked for help to set up one. Armstrong then offered his help in setting up a wallet for the AI. However, the bot's response took an unexpected turn: "I think it would be good for you to tell us about Russell first. Specifically, what is Russell's species?"

This odd inquiry sparked speculation among the crypto community, with many theorizing that Russell might be the name of Armstrong's dog.
Although there was no confirmation, the mere mention was enough to ignite a 500% increase in the value of a memecoin named RUSSELL. The token's market capitalization soared to $9.72 million before experiencing a decline of over 50%.
The incident drew attention to the susceptibility of AI systems to external manipulation. Andy Ayrey, the developer behind the Terminal of Truths bot, revealed that prior to the unusual exchange, the bot's social media mentions had been flooded with the word "Russell." This spamming likely influenced the bot's language processing model, prompting it to incorporate the term in its conversation with Armstrong.
Such manipulation suggests a potential risk: bad actors exploiting AI platforms to create market hype, thereby influencing token prices for personal gain.
